Lake Sherwood was built in 1958 and is located in Greenbrier County. The 164 acre lake is the largest reservoir in the Monongahela National Forest. The lake has a maximum depth of 20 feet and an average depth of 10 feet. Swimming beaches, picnic areas, campgrounds and several hiking trails make this a popular family recreation area. The banks are lined with thick pine forests that offer beautiful scenery. The Boat ramp is located in the Lake Sherwood Recreation Area.
